Biographies » Hannah Dawson
Before going to music college, Hannah was inspired greatly by the teaching of Howard Davis. Then, at the Royal College of Music, Hannah had lessons with Ani Schnarch, for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Since then, she has enjoyed maintaining a connection with the college, being a Junior Fellow and Young Generation Artist with the quartet.
Hannah was leader of the Kent County Youth Orchestra and also led the second violins in National Isis Strings Academy. With these orchestras, she toured North America, Argentina, Italy and Spain. Recently, she was invited back by NISA to be a soloist in Malcolm Arnold’s double violin concerto.
In 2005, Hannah wrote a study guide for the violin, which was published by Sanctuary.
A violin concerto was written for Hannah by Michael Omer, which she performed in St John’s Smith Square.
Hannah loves going to Prussia Cove, Cornwall and taking part in Open Chamber Music, playing with musicians from all around the world.
