Sacconi Debut CD and Downloads
We are thrilled to announce our first CD - Haydn String Quartets opus 54 - on our new label Sacconi Records. Fresh from the pressing plant, it is now available to buy from us at all of our concerts. We hope that soon it will be available also by mail order. We are particularly grateful to artist Neil Canning, who has so generously donated ten paintings which he made after listening to our live and recorded performances. These paintings will form the covers of our first ten CDs on the Sacconi Records label.
Also brand new, the first of our downloads are now ready on our recordings page for your enjoyment. These are John Metcalf's beautiful Llwybrau Can (Paths of Song), which he wrote for us in 2007, and Lalo's fantastic and much under-performed String Quartet opus 45. The Haydn opus 54 quartets from the CD will also soon be available to download.
Our second CD will be launched at the Sacconi Chamber Music Festival at Folkestone on 15th-17th May. Pairing Ravel's Quartet with the Lalo Quartet and Turina's haunting Prayer of the Bullfighter, it will make a fantastic compliment to the grace and humour of the Haydn CD.
